Dr. Hamish Rae is a well respected and experienced orthopaedic surgeon operating at the Goulburn Base Hospital for both private and public patients. He is dedicated to providing specialised orthopaedic and trauma services to the community with subspecialty interest in arthroscopic shoulder surgery and primary and revision hip, knee and shoulder replacement surgery. Dr. Rae is known for his approachable demeanour, and effective/open communication with patients. He maintains high professional standards and collaborates closely with therapy teams to optimise patient outcomes. He is well-versed in multimodal pain management and enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocol, working closely with anaesthetists and physiotherapist to ensure improved early recovery while minimising complications. Dr. Rae's primary focus is on joint replacement surgery for the hip, knee, and shoulder, as well as arthroscopic and open surgery of the shoulder. He utilises modern technology, including robotic surgery, patient-specific instrumentation, and computer navigation, to ensure precision and accuracy in joint replacement procedures. Robotic surgery is used routinely for knee replacements at the Goulburn Base Hospital. Dr. Rae's extensive training includes fellowships in shoulder and elbow surgery in Sydney and complex hip and knee arthroplasty (joint replacements) in London, UK. He played a pivotal role in establishing the modern orthopaedic department at Goulburn Base Hospital. Dr Wisam Ihsheish

Dr Ihsheish is a caring and compassionate surgeon who takes all necessary steps to educate his patients about their specific condition, and explain in relevant detail the surgical options available to best manage their symptoms. Dr Ihsheish is a firm believer in close follow-up care after the surgery as a vital step in good functional recovery. Dr Jasan Dannaway

Dr Dannaway is an orthopaedic surgeon who completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney and orthopaedic training through the NSW training network. Prior to commencing medical studies, Dr Dannaway practiced as a physiotherapist in a variety of settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and sporting events. Along with his clinical interests, he has advanced his teaching and research capabilities through the completion of master’s degrees in these fields. Dr Dannaway has completed a number of dedicated local and international fellowships in shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand surgery in order to further his expertise.
Dr Andrew Leicester

Dr Leicester’s predominant orthopaedic interest is knee and hip replacement surgery, having performed over 1000 medial pivot knee replacements and over 1000 anterior muscle-sparing approach hip replacements. He also performs the following: Knee sports surgery including ACL reconstruction Hand surgery Shoulder surgery including rotator cuff repair, instability surgery and shoulder replacement Surgery of the foot and ankle Trauma surgery Dr Leicester also specialises in paediatric orthopaedics; much of this work comprising hip dysplasia, talipes and trauma such as fractures in children. Surgery is carried out at Bowral District Hospital, Southern Highlands Private Hospital and Sydney Children’s Hospital.
